Penny Laine is a small knitwear brand, founded in 2020 in Spain, and is now based in France.

My name is Sofía Amador, I'm a Colombian artist & designer born in 1996.

I work as an illustrator & photographer and have been designing and making knitwear since the March-September quarantine.

I’m a self-taught knitter, as I started with a couple of chopsticks I had in my kitchen and some leftover yarn. My first hand-knitted garment was the Annie Vest in grey.

Penny Laine is committed to the sustainability, high quality and longevity of its knitted garments. This is why I only work with 100% natural yarns. I’ve worked with local Colombian yarn spinners and I’ve reached with lovely wool crafters who help me and support this business. As it is a rather slow and dedicated progress, I'm in the constant search for the highest quality yarns and materials

As slow fashion is making a much-needed comeback, it's such a treat for me to be able to contribute and to support other small businesses and artisans. A handmade garment has a very strong meaning for those who made it and for those who wear it. I'm an advocate of the meaningfulness and environmental impact that slow fashion is having.

Thank you so much for your support.
